Something interesting Turning that creativity into a power of the city
Sunshine City was opened in 1978 as the first large-scale private-sector project leading development of the Ikebukuro area. Even now, over 40 years after we undertook the creation of a facility that all could enjoy under the slogan "There's something interesting," the location greets about 30 million guests a year. The Ikebukuro area is now undergoing a major transformation as a city of international arts and culture.
We believe that, making the most of our development abilities and drawing on the creation and production of spaces that leverage the intanglble strengths we have built up, we can contribute to the further development of the city and accelerate collaboration with the community. Toward this end, we have begun new initiatives that include the creation of a dedicated department to promote community development, and personnel interaction with Toshima Ward.
Going beyond our facilities to provide "something interesting" to the community and society. This is the new mission of the Sunshine City Group.
As we making further efforts toward community development to meet people's expectations, we look forward to your continued support and cooperation.
