株式会社サンシャインシティ

Creating new places
and fun things

President greetings

Since its opening in 1978 until this very day, Sunshine City has progressed in step with the development of the Ikebukuro area. This would have not been possible without everybody’s contribution and I would like to thank everyone you for their ongoing support.

"Sunshine City, incorporates business facilities, commercial facilities, amusement facilities like the Observatory and the Aquarium, cultural facilities like a theater and a museum, public structures like public parking lots and a bus terminal as well as miscellaneous facilities like a convention center and a hotel; as such, it constitutes an urban space complete with all the diverse functions required for life in a big city and everyday welcomes a great number of visitors thanks to multilateral support.
Also, even though more than 30 years have passed since Sunshine City first opened its doors, we always strive to retain the freshness of a living city. As a result, about 30 million people visit us every year, to whom I am extremely grateful."

We will continue to make every effort to create a community responding to everyone’s needs and we ask for your patronage and encouragement in the future too.

President and CEO: Naoto Aiba
